The IYLC is looking for capable, creative and energetic volunteers to take part in our three-month Leadership Associate Programme (LAP)

We commit to providing:

At the end of the LAP, volunteers will be presented with a certificate of completion and will be automatically eligible for consideration for the roles of Facilitator or Logistics Coordinator, dependent on the work stream they have committed to. 

The LAP is open but not limited to IYLC Alumni. (IYLC Alumni are preferred candidates because they understand and have demonstrated that they buy-in to our core values.) 

There are two positions available: Content Contributor and Regional Coordinator. Content Contributors will be considered for Facilitator roles and Regional Coordinators will be considered for Logistics Coordinator roles.

Content Contributors
Your role as a LAP volunteer is to create content that generates enthusiasm for youth leadership, motivates the best and the brightest to attend a conference and strengthens relationships with partners and donors around the world.

During the course of the LAP, you will be asked to:

  • Create content that aligns with IYLC's social media mission statement;
  • Create personal marketing strategies to engage delegates;
  • Generate new leads;
  • Conduct user research to find out what motivates students and what their obstacles are;
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of IYLC's processes, procedures and products to generate the biggest possible engagement;
  • Meeting with and encouraging potential delegates to participate;
  • Complete accurate administrative tasks for the role.
  • Perform your volunteering role to the best of your ability.

Regional coordinators

Your role as a LAP volunteer is to develop relationships  with local stakeholders and boost the profile of IYLC in your region. 

You must be in or close to any of the four countries where our conferences take place. For e.g. you may live in Singapore or Australia and be the regional contact for the Malaysian Conference.;

During the course of the LAP, you will be asked to: 

  • Contact new potential partners in the city that the conference is taking place;
  • Maintain existing relationships with stakeholders and universities;
  • Generate new links with Universities;
  • work with the Content Contributor to generate relevant content and disseminate this content appropriately in your region;
